8th March The Event that closes a Film Festival - The Vampires Ball!

At the Sá da Bandeira Theatre the rawness of rock and various aspects of electronic music are served at the vampirical feast the Fantasporto, which in 2008 comes with the unquestionable power as it was already to be expected.

With the promise of a guaranteed successful party, the Vampires Ball of Fantasporto 2008 presents Markus Kienzl, a member of the Sofa Surfers and one of the top names of the Austrian musical scene, and Micro Waves Audio - one of the new darlings of Portuguese music. The closing party of Fantasporto 2008 is on Saturday evening, on March 8th, as always, in the Theatre Sá da Bandeira. This year, even more reasons to let the Vampire that resides in you to awaken and party...

The Austrian Markus Kienzl, a member of the Sofa Surfers brings a festive environment to the party. Known by many sountracks, remixes and contributions to compilations, he offers a show based on his first solo disc "Product" of 2005. This album is the result of 4 years of work to reinterpret songs for the dance floor, where the darkest sounds of the dub mix with the semi-industrial jazz, result in dense and powerful environments. On this great night of the Fantas closing event, pay attention to Micro Audio Waves. It all started with the passion of C. Morg and Flak for experimental electronic music, evolving to a more pop-like sound with the presence of vocalist Claudia Efe.Never losing the influences of the vanguard currents, this transition appears with the album "No Waves" from 2004, which gained international awards competing next to names with great media projection as Vitalic, Murcof or The Books. In 2008 they are nominated once again for the Qwartz Awards in Paris.

The Sizo are a "power trio" with four elements on stage and a strong presence... With a raw and urgent rock, they launched the first album "Nice to Miss You" after an uninterrupted 10 hour session that resulted in a genuine disc with all the errors characteristic for human beings that are "educated and well behaved". They opened the festival Heineken Paredes de Coura with an unexpected audience of followers, and made the first part of British Chris Clark at the &Festival Theatro Circo, and also shared the stage of Sá da Bandeira Theatre with the 1990s and the New Young Pony Club. Recently they made a mini tour in Spain.

Deficient Tigre are "one thousand punks with neons and riding." It is dance music, inspired by electrical appliances, with rock and avant-garde cartoons. With a concept based on progressive electronic music, the Bailes Nocturnos are the Dj and multimedia aspect of the project in which all that is kitsch and genuine is put to the test. The project emerged overnight, in 2005, at a two hours jam session of guitars and electronic programming, and is now an adolescent entering adulthood. With a show that is expected to be "juicy and aromatic," they merge the art of performance with the music, starting a "stupidly fun" party.

The Fritus Potatoes Suicide is a DJs collective from Oporto whose motto rock/electro/heavy-disk/party-techno/trash&roll has led them to play in places as different as Maus Hábitos (where they reside), Plano B, Porto Rio, Left (Lisbon), Office Club (Caldas da Raínha), Nasoni (Viana do Castelo), PDL (Azores), World's End, Kinky Star and Video (the last 3 in Ghent, Belgium). In Paredes de Coura (and Sudoeste Festival), for the past two years, they go crazy at the Toyota tent.
